Recently, Keanu Reeves has been working on his new film, Good Fortune. Earlier in the week, he appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and talked about an incident that worried some fans.

The 59-year-old actor told the audience that he injured his knee while on set. Known for his dynamic roles in films like The Matrix and the John Wick series, Reeves explained that his injury was caused by something seemingly harmless.

During the interview, Colbert inquired, “What happened? Who got to you?”

In a playful tough guy voice, the actor responded, “No one got to me. It was just an accident.”

Colbert continued to probe, “Were you jumping from building to building? Were you dodging razor blades? What were you doing?”

Keanu replied, “No, Stephen, I was just walking into the dressing room. Let me explain quickly.”

He went on to describe the incident, which occurred while filming a comedy scene for Good Fortune, featuring Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen. The trio had just come out of a cold plunge pool. Keanu was doing the “cold shuffle” across a carpeted room when his foot snagged, causing him to fall.

Standing up to show what happened, Keanu walked in front of Stephen’s desk and demonstrated how his knee collapsed. “And I spiked. Hard,” he demonstrated, showing how he hit the ground. “It was like dropping a potato chip.”

He continued, “My kneecap just cracked, though I didn’t realize it right away. But then my knee started swelling up,” he added.

“Comedy is tough, man,” Keanu joked.

“This wasn’t an action scene with Aziz and Rogen,” Stephen pointed out.

“No, it was a comedy scene,” Keanu confirmed.

Stephen then joked, “Welcome to my life.”

In January, Keanu was seen filming on crutches, using an ice pack on his knee.

Good Fortune not only features Aziz Ansari but also marks his directorial debut. The film, which he wrote and co-produced, also stars Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer.
