Every week, I visit my husband’s grave to water the flowers. It’s become a ritual, something that helps me feel connected to him. Each time I finish, I always walk away without looking back. One day, a young man who had been watching me for some time approached and said, “I’ve noticed how much respect you show to your late husband. It’s really lovely that you don’t turn around when you leave.”

“Well, sir,” I replied, looking him straight in the eye, “my husband always used to joke that I had a backside that could raise the dead. I just don’t want to take any chances.”

The young man was left speechless, his eyes wide with surprise. He probably expected a more somber reason, but instead, he got a glimpse of my husband’s sense of humor that I cherished so much.

It’s funny how even in death, my husband’s jokes can still bring a smile to my face and now, to someone else’s too.

If this story made you laugh, share it with your loved ones and brighten their day too!
