A famous rapper collapsed during a morning radio show and passed away at 39. Justin “BeatKing” Riley was well-known in Texas and the South for influencing music in the early 2000s.
According to TMZ, the Houston-born artist was rushed to the hospital after collapsing at the Urban One/Radio One station due to a pulmonary embolism, which is caused by a blood clot blocking a lung’s blood vessel.
He passed away at a Houston hospital with his two daughters by his side. His manager, Tasha Felder, broke the sad news on Instagram, expressing her deep sorrow.
“BeatKing has been the heart of the club for over a decade,” she said. In her tribute, she highlighted his work and its impact on the music industry.
“He collaborated with many artists, and his sound will always live on,” Felder added. His daughters, his music, and his fans meant everything to him.
“We will love him forever.” Fans shared their grief in the comments of Felder’s post. “I’m so sorry for your loss!” one fan wrote.
“This news really shocked me.” Another fan added, “Everyone loved him!!” “Rest in peace, a true TEXAS LEGEND,” wrote someone else.
A third fan said, “This is heartbreaking!” “He will always be missed.”
BEATKING’S CAREER
Riley was a respected figure in Houston’s underground music scene. He worked with major artists like 2 Chainz and Moneybagg Yo.
Riley became famous for hits like “Then Leave” and “Scream.” His music, popular in clubs, reflected his Instagram handle, @clubgodzilla.
