Silent Student’s Powerful Response

This incident occurred in my initial semester at university a couple of years back.

A young woman in my class consistently refrained from speaking to our instructor. Despite his attempts to engage her with questions, she always remained silent. I don’t recall her ever making a sound.

One day, the instructor lost his temper.

He believed she was deliberately ignoring him and acting disrespectfully, so he yelled, “Hey! Didn’t anyone teach you how to talk?”

Calmly, she stood up, approached the whiteboard, grabbed his marker, and wrote, “I am mute, you idiot.”
