At 89, Shirley MacLaine shows no signs of stopping.

Even at this age, the Oscar-winning actress remains active. She’s often spotted sipping Martinis while dining in Hollywood.

MacLaine’s career has spanned seven decades. Few can match the experiences she’s had in the film industry.

She’s been in countless hit movies, like *The Apartment*, *The Trouble With Harry*, *Two Mules for Sister Sara*, and *Guarding Tess*.

Her role in *Steel Magnolias* from 1989 is still iconic, though in real life, she’s nothing like the grumpy Ouiser Boudreaux she played.

“Not much gets to me,” she said in 2019.

“Attitudes are a choice. You can choose anger, peace, or sarcasm – which I’m good at.”

Shirley says her life today is “perfect.” She enjoys her freedom, sleeping and eating as she pleases, and spends most of her time at her New Mexico ranch with her terriers.

Born April 24, 1934, she started her career on Broadway before captivating audiences in Alfred Hitchcock’s *The Trouble with Harry* in 1955.

“Hitchcock was a riot,” she recalled at age 21.

“Thankfully, I wasn’t tall or mysterious. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have liked him.”

With over 50 films to her credit, she’s cemented her place in Hollywood. Even now, in her late 80s, she still acts. Recently, she appeared in the series *Only Murders in the Building*.

“I’ve never thought about quitting. I’ve stayed in the industry because I wanted to afford plane tickets for travel,” she explained.

“I’d rather visit new countries than socialize in Hollywood. Looking back, I’d even rank my travels above my acting career.”

Though she occasionally visits Hollywood, Shirley finds peace in nature.

Her happiness comes from spending time in the wilderness around her ranch, rather than staying busy.

She also loves her home in Malibu but feels recharged by being close to nature.

She encourages others to “connect with nature” and embrace its healing power.

Shirley’s love life has often been the topic of rumors.

She was married to businessman Steve Parker for nearly 30 years, and they had a daughter in 1956.

Shirley has openly admitted to having other relationships while married.

There have been claims that Shirley was not faithful during her marriage, but she denied these allegations.

“It’s painful as a mother to hear such false accusations,” she said. “I’m heartbroken that my daughter would say things that are almost all fiction.

I’ve always praised her in my autobiographies. It’s sad to see such an opportunistic effort.”

Despite her denial, her daughter Sachi insists her biological father is an astronaut named Paul.

This disagreement has strained their relationship, and they reportedly no longer speak.

Shirley has never hidden her unique views on relationships. In a 2011 interview with Oprah, she talked about her marriage to Steve Parker.

In 2012, she made headlines again by revealing she had slept with two prime ministers.

Many suspected one was Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme, but he denied it.

Shirley also said she had been with Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and Australian Foreign Minister Andrew Peacock.

Speaking about Trudeau, she said, “He was smart and had wonderful children. They were mischievous and sweet.”

Her claims about the prime ministers are unverified, and it’s uncertain if they are true.

Shirley was also rumored to have had a three-year affair with actor Robert Mitchum and a brief romance with Dean Martin, among others.

Shirley MacLaine’s talent and charm remain unmatched. At 89, she’s still eager for new creative roles.

Her appearance in *Only Murders in the Building* reminded everyone of her enduring abilities. In a recent interview, she hinted she’s not finished with acting.

“I love making movies. Playing Leonora Folger in *Murders* was a blast.

It was fun shooting those scenes. It was also great reconnecting with old friends Steve [Martin] and Marty [Short], and I’ve known the creator John Hoffman for years.

I just loved working with them,” she shared.

May Shirley MacLaine’s journey continue to inspire, as she remains one of Hollywood’s brightest stars.
