Sally Field’s worst on-screen kiss in her decades-long career might be a surprise to most

Sally Field has always impressed me. She’s a top-notch actress with a rich history of acting roles. At 76 years old, she’s experienced many on-screen romances.

She’s shared plenty of kisses on TV. Initially hesitant, she eventually disclosed her least favorite on-screen kiss.

Widely regarded as a versatile and talented actor, Sally Field’s career in Hollywood has been remarkable. She’s captivated us with her iconic roles in various movies and TV shows.

For example, her performance in “Steel Magnolias” was unforgettable, especially the funeral scene. In it, Sally played a character grappling with love, disappointment, anger, and grief, and she did an excellent job.

She’s also famous for her roles in “Erin Brockovich,” “The Flying Nun,” “Gidget,” “Forrest Gump,” and “Sweet and the Bandit.”

During a “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” episode, a fan’s question prompted Sally to reveal her worst on-screen kiss.

Field chuckled at the question, hesitating, “Do I really need to say names?”

Cohen, 54, insisted, “I think you should.”

Field relented, “Okay, this might shock you. Hold on, everyone.”

She then named her former boyfriend Burt Reynolds as the worst kisser.

Cohen queried, “But weren’t you two dating then?”

Field explained she had to overlook certain things while shooting “Smokey and the Bandit.” She felt his kissing was lacking.

Cohen reacted with surprise, “Isn’t that something?”

Field added that Reynolds tended to “drool” during their scenes together.

Their romance began on the set of “Smokey and the Bandit” in 1977, and they dated for nearly five years.

The New York Post mentioned that Reynolds reflected on their relationship in his memoir, “But Enough About Me.” He passed away at 82 from cardiac arrest, expressing regret over their split and wishing he had tried harder to fix things.

Field told Variety in March why she hadn’t spoken to Reynolds for the last 30 years of his life.

She explained, “I couldn’t be around him. He wasn’t right for me. Plus, he had built up this image that I was more important to him than I felt I was. All he wanted was what he lacked. I just didn’t want to deal with that.”
