A specialist in lip-reading has shared their interpretation of what was exchanged between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry during a heartfelt interaction at the Invictus Games' inauguration ceremony over the weekend.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex captivated the audience at the gathering, which was originally established by Harry in 2014.

The pair showcased a deep connection, displaying affection in a way that painted a picture of a deeply devoted couple—both for those physically present and for viewers tuning in remotely.

This prestigious event unfolded at Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium, where over 500 athletes observed as Harry and Meghan entwined their fingers, exchanged kisses, and tenderly cupped each other’s faces.

Jeremy Freeman, an expert in forensic lip reading who provided insight to the Daily Mail, closely examined the dialogue between the couple as they took in the spectacle before them.

Just moments before the prince stepped onto the platform to deliver his speech, he reportedly turned towards Meghan and murmured a few words of reassurance.

As per Freeman’s analysis, Harry told his wife, "Alright… I’ll be back soon."

Meghan, holding his face with both hands, is believed to have responded with admiration, saying, "You’re incredible!"

However, that was far from the only tender moment they shared throughout the event.

Another instance of their affection was observed as they rode together on a golf cart—Harry’s hand resting gently on Meghan’s leg.

As the vehicle moved past spectators, the couple cheerfully greeted supporters, exchanging waves and saying "hello" to those who had gathered to see them.

This public display of unity came shortly after former U.S. President Donald Trump made controversial comments regarding their marriage.

A body language analyst suggested that Meghan’s overtly loving gestures during Saturday’s event served as a subtle yet powerful response to Trump’s remarks.

Just days prior, Trump had been questioned about whether he would challenge Prince Harry’s U.S. residency status in light of new immigration policies. His response was dismissive yet pointed:

"I don’t want to go there. I’ll leave him be. He’s already got enough trouble with his wife. She’s awful."

Speaking to the Daily Mail, body language expert Judi James asserted that Meghan and Harry’s interactions throughout the event appeared to be a direct counterstatement to those claims.

She explained, "While seated in the stands observing the ceremony, Meghan exuded an air of pride and deep affection. She clung to Harry’s arm, pressing herself close to him in a way that resembled an adoring fan. She clasped his hand in a possessive manner, as if making it absolutely clear—perhaps unnecessarily—to the world, and to Trump himself, that ‘he belongs to me and me alone.’"

James further elaborated, "Her demeanor seemed to oscillate between that of a giddy teenager out on a romantic evening and that of a doting mother beaming with pride at a school function."

Throughout the evening, Harry and Meghan’s actions radiated a sense of togetherness, making it evident that, despite external criticism, they remained unwavering in their devotion to one another.
