Donald & Melania Trump out of “synchronicity”, claims expert
The presidential inauguration has always been a spark for countless provocative stories and moments.
As Donald Trump was sworn in for his second term as President of the United States, the nation’s attention turned to Capitol Hill on January 20. The day marked the beginning of a new chapter in U.S. history, one closely watched for controversy and memorable events.
Predictably, the occasion was rife with speculation and viral-worthy moments. One particular incident involved Donald and Melania Trump, where the first lady seemed to “avoid” a kiss from her husband during the ceremony. This act caught the attention of viewers worldwide.
Before delivering his inaugural address, immediately following his oath of office, Trump and Melania attended the traditional church service that marks the start of the inauguration. This also symbolized the official conclusion of the outgoing administration.
With cameras capturing every second, Trump appeared to lean in to kiss his wife, an unusual display of public affection from the pair. However, Melania, dressed in a striking outfit featuring a dramatic hat that obscured much of her face, turned her head, causing Trump’s attempt to fall short.
Unsurprisingly, this moment became the subject of intense online discussion, with various theories emerging about its significance. Some speculated whether Melania intentionally turned away from her husband’s kiss, while others dismissed it as a coincidental gesture that just happened to play out on the world stage.
In an effort to interpret the situation, body language expert Judi James weighed in. Speaking with Paddy Power, James noted that Trump entered the inauguration with a “slow, alpha presence,” wearing a “serious, sombre” expression. She explained that when Trump reached for Melania’s hand, he did so “tenderly,” in a way reminiscent of a romantic moment such as a wedding ceremony.
James described the attempted kiss as a “heart-stopping moment” and suggested that while Trump appeared to go for a lip-to-lip kiss, Melania leaned in but turned her face to initiate a cheek kiss instead. This subtle action, according to James, could indicate a lack of synchronicity between the couple.
Melania’s attire also became a talking point on social media. Some critics argued that her dark boater hat and high-necked outfit were too somber for the celebratory nature of the event. Others likened her appearance to a “mob wife at a funeral” or described it as embodying “Dark Maga.”
Speculation also surrounds Melania’s plans during Trump’s second term. Rumors suggest she will not reside full-time in the White House but will divide her time between Washington, D.C., and New York City, where the couple’s son, Barron, is currently studying.
As for Trump’s inaugural speech, it was filled with bold promises and ambitious goals. Among his declarations, he vowed to launch what he called the largest deportation program in U.S. history, aimed at removing “criminals” from the country. “I will rescue every city and town that has been invaded and conquered,” he proclaimed, pledging to imprison and deport individuals he deemed as threats as quickly as possible.
In addition, Trump promised to declassify hidden government files, including those related to the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. He also expressed a willingness to consider pardons for individuals involved in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots.
The president further announced his intention to eliminate birthright citizenship, a move that would face significant legal challenges since it is protected by the U.S. Constitution. He also pledged to cut federal funding for schools teaching what he described as “inappropriate” subjects, such as critical race theory and transgender issues. “On Day One, I will sign a new executive order to cut federal funding for any school pushing critical race theory, transgender insanity,” Trump stated, as reported by NPR.
