As the wedding day drew near, anticipation mixed with nerves filled the air for a couple eagerly awaiting the moment they would start their life together.
They were excited to celebrate their love with the people who meant the most to them. However, lurking beneath the surface was a hidden plot fueled by envy and unspoken emotions.
Just a few days before the big day, an unexpected event took place. One of the bride’s closest friends, a bridesmaid who harbored jealousy toward her, made a spiteful decision.
She secretly snapped a photo of the bride in her wedding gown and sent it to the groom. Her aim was clear: to stir doubt in his mind and invoke old superstitions, threatening to overshadow their special day.
When the groom received the picture, he was both stunned and unsettled. A deep sense of dread began to take hold.
He couldn’t shake the thought of the age-old belief that it was bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her wedding dress before the ceremony.
“What if this ruins everything? Should we take the chance?” he pondered.
Torn by this fear, the groom wrestled with his thoughts. After much internal struggle, he made a painful decision.
He called his fiancée and said, “I think we should call off the wedding.”
The bride, blindsided and devastated, asked, “Why? What’s going on?” Her voice cracked with emotion.
“I saw you in your dress,” he confessed, his tone heavy with anxiety. “It’s supposed to be bad luck. I don’t want to risk our future together.”
Shocked and confused, she replied, “Who would do this to us?” But the groom had no answers.
In the following months, the tight-knit circle of their friends began to drift apart. The betrayal and emotional strain had a lasting impact on the couple.
They chose to indefinitely postpone the wedding, needing time to recover from the toxic influence that had shaken their relationship.
A year later, after healing from the hurt, they emerged stronger, more united than before. They came to understand that their love far outweighed any superstition.
The groom approached his fiancée once more and said, “I was wrong to let a silly superstition come between us. Will you marry me, for real this time?”
With a tearful smile, she said, “Yes, let’s do it on our own terms.”
This time, they planned a small, personal ceremony with only their closest loved ones.
The bridesmaid who had tried to sabotage their happiness was no longer part of their lives.
They chose to surround themselves with those who genuinely cared about their love and future.
On their wedding day, as they exchanged vows, the groom gazed deeply into his bride’s eyes and said, “I vow to love and cherish you, no matter what we face.”
She replied, “And I vow to stand by your side through every challenge that comes our way.”
Though their journey had been difficult, it had only strengthened their bond. Together, they faced their future hand in hand, prepared for whatever life might bring.
