A Night to Remember at the Golden Wave Awards

In 2019, the incredible singer from Canada, Marc Martel, got a special invite to a big music event in Georgia called the Golden Wave Award. This fancy event took place in the beautiful Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater. They decided to give a big shoutout to the legendary band Queen, and who better to rock the stage than Marc Martel? He’s known for sounding just like Freddie Mercury, Queen’s unforgettable lead singer.

Epic Performance with the Tbilisi Kids

Marc, who started his fame journey with the band Downhere, wowed everyone with Queen’s top hits. But the best part? His mind-blowing version of “Bohemian Rhapsody” with the help of a kids’ choir, the Tbilisi Children’s Capella. Marc’s amazing voice plus the kids’ angel-like singing made this performance one for the books.

Dressed to impress, Marc was all sweaty in his suit by mid-performance, showing how much he put into the show. The kids’ choir, in their neat white uniforms, added a cool contrast. And with Marc playing the piano and the kids’ synchronized moves, the show was nothing short of spectacular.

A Queen Medley to Remember

Before the grand finale with “Bohemian Rhapsody”, Marc and his choir friends took us on a Queen journey with hits like “Radio Ga Ga”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “I Want To Break Free”, and “We Will Rock You”. Ending with “We Are the Champions”, it was an emotional and powerful tribute to Queen.

You can catch Marc’s entire performance and feel the magic yourself.

Marc Martel’s talent brings us closer to experiencing Queen’s magic, and his collaboration with the Tbilisi Children’s Capella choir shows how Queen’s music is timeless, crossing generations and touching hearts everywhere.
