Engagements are supposed to be filled with love and joy, but this man’s shocking behavior ruined his happy relationship with his fiancée.

Things took a horrible turn when he made an outrageous request, leaving her doubting their future. She shared her story on Reddit.

A 22-year-old woman thought her 25-year-old fiancé was her perfect match.

He proposed eight months ago, and they were planning a small wedding just two days away. Everything felt wonderful.

However, just before their big day, her fiancé made a shocking request:

he wanted his father to inspect her hymen, in front of his brothers and uncles, to confirm she was a virgin.

“I am a virgin, and so is he. He wanted to wait until marriage, and I agreed,” she explained.

“He told me before that in his family, the father checks the bride’s virginity the night before the wedding. I thought it was a joke.”

He was serious. He said it was a family tradition to check the bride’s purity the night before the wedding.

The woman was deeply uncomfortable and unsure if she could go through with it. Her fiancé was firm in his request.

He said it would prove her love for him and suggested she had nothing to hide if she was truly a virgin.

The woman was stunned and left him crying. She almost called off the wedding but still loved him and wanted to be part of his family.

She thought about it overnight at her friend’s house. The next day, she met her fiancé and told him she wouldn’t go through with the ritual. He had to respect her decision.

But he insisted the ritual must happen before they could marry.

He accused her of lying about her virginity, saying her refusal showed she was hiding something.

She stayed calm, but his anger grew. The more she tried to explain, the more aggressive he became.

She hoped her love would make him stand up to his family, but instead, he became violent.

He slapped her for disagreeing and said he didn’t need to prove anything to her.

Heartbroken, she realized he wasn’t the person she thought he was. She decided to cancel the wedding.

Devastated, she went to stay with a friend to process what had happened.

Many were shocked by her story—some even thought it was fake until she confirmed it was true.
