Kai Madison Trump is the eldest child of Donald Trump Jr. and his former wife, Vanessa, making her the first grandchild among Donald Trump’s ten grandchildren.
She was born on May 12, 2007, in New York City and was named after her maternal grandfather, Kai Ewans, a Danish jazz musician.
As the story goes, Vanessa went into labor while attending a charity event in the city, and Kai, eager to make her debut, arrived two weeks earlier than expected—just like a true Trump!
She weighed 6 pounds and 14 ounces at birth.
Donald Trump Jr. beamed with joy when speaking to People magazine from the hospital, stating, “Everyone is doing great.”
As for Donald Trump himself, he was still getting used to the idea of becoming a grandfather.
“It’s not something I had particularly thought about, but it’s a great feeling,” he shared with the New York Post after the announcement of Kai’s birth.

On the third day of the convention, Kai took to the stage to share with the nation what her grandfather is truly like.
“The media portrays my grandpa as someone he isn’t. But I know the real him. He is kind and caring. He genuinely wants the best for this country. And he will fight every day to make America great again,” she expressed.
During her first-ever speech, Kai also mentioned that the president-elect is “just like any other grandpa.”
“He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking,” she shared with a laugh.
She also recalled how her grandfather frequently checks in on his grandkids’ academic progress.
“When I made the high honor roll, he printed it out and showed his friends how proud he was,” she said.
Many were impressed by Kai’s poised and confident presence, though she later admitted she was quite nervous.
“There were way more people than I anticipated. I didn’t think it would be that many,” she confessed in an interview with Grant Horvat.
Her Reaction to Donald Trump’s Assassination Attempt
Donald and Kai share a truly deep bond, and one of their most emotional moments was at the RNC.
For Kai, her speech wasn’t just a public moment—it was an incredibly personal experience.
“It was really meaningful for both of us,” Kai reflected.
“It was right after he was attacked, and it was the first time I had seen him since. That was really special. We both got a little teary-eyed. I’ll never forget it,” she shared.
A Passion for Golf
Kai Trump’s love for golf is undeniable, and she’s clearly following in some remarkable footsteps.
