Johnny’s mother, Scarlett, spoke to TMZ about the incident. She explained that Johnny and his friends saw a group of men tampering with his car. When they approached to investigate, the men shot Johnny. According to Scarlett, her son did not try to fight the carjackers but was still shot.

The Los Angeles Police Department provided a similar account. They reported that a man, not identified by them, was shot around 3 a.m. near Pico Boulevard and Hope Street. Despite being taken to a hospital, he was pronounced dead.

General Hospital producers released a heartfelt statement about Johnny’s passing. They expressed their sorrow and mentioned how wonderful it was to work with him.

Johnny Wactor appeared in over 160 episodes of General Hospital. He also featured in other notable television projects, including ABC’s Station 19, HBO’s Westworld, Netflix’s The OA, and CBS originals Criminal Minds and NCIS.
