Mark Bryan, a 61-year-old engineer from Germany, bravely defies gender norms.
Originally, high heels were made for men in the 10th century to increase height and style. However, they are now mostly worn by women.
Mark joins other modern men in bringing back this shoe style for males, not just females.
Mark, also a father of three, works as a robotics engineer. He divides his time between parenting and his job.
Looking at him, you wouldn’t guess he’s popular on social media. Yet, this German native has stirred online interest with his striking outfits and pictures.
On Instagram, Mark has nearly 660,000 followers because of his posts.
His style features pumps, boots, and skirts. Alongside his varied wardrobe, Mark shares messages stressing how normal his fashion choices are.
He argues that clothing should not be linked to gender. Preferring skirts to dresses, he pairs them with more “masculine” tops.
He believes skirts offer more variety than the usual pants worn by many men at work.
His kids back his fashion choices, having been taught by him that clothes don’t reflect one’s sexuality or gender.
His daughter, in particular, looks forward to wearing some of her dad’s outfits.
His wife also supports him and assists in selecting his clothes.
Still, not everyone understands.
Mark often faces negative remarks online and in person. He regularly has to remind critics that their comments would likely differ if he wore traditional pants.
Would you be comfortable wearing what Mark wears?
