Dolly Parton has had a long and highly successful life in the public eye.

This famed singer’s skills have spanned various decades and styles, keeping her at the forefront of the entertainment world for as long as most of us can recall.

Despite her legendary status, she still deals with criticism. Recently, some have criticized her appearance as she nears her eighties.

At 77, Dolly Parton is well-known in country music and the wider celebrity world.

Born in Tennessee, she has become a legend. She has spent her life performing and loves to entertain her many fans.

In a recent chat with Pollystar, Dolly mentioned she won’t be touring as before. She said:

“I might do a few special shows from time to time. Maybe a long weekend of shows or a couple at a festival. But I don’t plan on going on a full tour again.”

Dolly, who climbed to the peak of global entertainment from a poor upbringing in the Appalachian Mountains, will be greatly missed on stage.

Despite her undeniable popularity, some still criticize her appearance.

Her look has been a point of contention since her career began. Dolly has remembered advice from others telling her to abandon her distinctive style if she wanted a serious career.

“People always told me to tone down my look—to simplify my hair and clothes,” she said,

“They told me I looked too cheap and no one would take me seriously.”

Over time, the harsh comments have persisted. Some feel justified in unfairly labeling Dolly.

One Twitter user commented: “Dolly Parton is one ugly lady,” while another remarked: “Dolly Parton is so ugly, but she has nice breasts.”

Despite the negativity online, Dolly stays positive and defiant. She’s happy with her appearance and isn’t planning to change.

“It costs a lot of money to look this cheap,” she famously stated.

Regarding her husband, the country star has shared that he adores her regardless.

“He doesn’t mind if I’m overweight,” Parton mentioned.

“He’s never been put off. He’s crazy enough to think I’m the sexiest, prettiest woman in the world.”

Dolly continues to strive for success and new challenges. According to Rolling Stone, she’s excited about her 2022 entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and plans to produce an album that might surprise some.

Last year, fans were thrilled to learn that Dolly Parton was being considered for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after her impressive career.

However, it’s said that initially, the superstar was hesitant to accept the nomination. Known primarily for country music, she felt others might be more deserving of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame spot.

Ultimately, public opinion and voter decisions confirmed her place there. In November, she was inducted and immediately sought to prove she deserved this honor.
