Clint Eastwood had no idea he had a daughter who had been secretly put up for adoption – she found him 30 years later

Clint Eastwood has been a public figure for so long that newspapers have covered almost every aspect of his life.

It’s surprising to realize that this iconic movie star is now 92 years old.

Throughout his long career and personal life, Clint has witnessed and been through everything. After nearly 70 years under the media’s watch, it’s no shock that his life includes plenty of drama, secrets, and scandalous tales.

Yet, what might shock some is a fact not everyone knows, and something Clint himself was unaware of for a very long time.

When he did find out, it profoundly changed his life.

Given his rugged looks, intense gaze, and towering height of 6 feet 4 inches, it’s understandable why many women found Clint Eastwood attractive in his prime.

Clint is the father of eight children, though he was only aware of seven for much of his life. One day, a woman surprised him by claiming to be his daughter.

It’s said that in the early 1950s, Clint had a relationship with a woman in Seattle while engaged to Maggie Johnson, long before his rise to fame.

He didn’t know she got pregnant with his child, who was later given up for adoption after their relationship ended.

A couple from Seattle adopted the baby girl, Laurie Murray. Years later, Laurie wanted to learn about her biological parents.

In 2018, a family friend told the Daily Mail, “About thirty years ago, Laurie hired a detective because she wanted to know who her real parents were.” They found Clint Eastwood’s name in the paperwork her mother had left.

“Clint Eastwood didn’t even know she was pregnant,” they added.

Laurie Murray found out Clint Eastwood was her father.

“I don’t think she had a great childhood, certainly not a privileged one,” the friend said. After discovering her biological parents, she reached out to her mother, who refused contact.

Luckily, Clint was more welcoming when his biological daughter reached out.

The friend mentioned, “Clint was very open to her and the situation. It was a huge shock for Laurie.”

Over time, Laurie and Clint grew closer and she began regularly joining family gatherings.

The actor’s biographer, Patrick McGilligan, revealed Clint’s eighth child in his book Clint: The Life and Legend, first bringing this story to public attention.

In an Inside Edition interview, McGilligan shared, “When he found out she was his daughter and realized who she was… he was fine with it.”

The Daily Mail source noted that Laurie and her family are financially stable. “It wasn’t a situation where she needed money from someone like Clint Eastwood,” they said.

“Laurie is very kind and keeps things private; she doesn’t publicly share this.”

Clint is married to Maggie Johnson and has eight children: Scott and Kathryn with Jacelyn Reeves; Francesca with Frances Fisher; Morgan with his current wife Dina Ruiz; and Kimber with Roxanne Tunis, with whom he had an affair while married to Johnson.
