Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora Still Not Talking After 11 Years

It’s been over a decade, but Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora are still not chatting with each other. Even though they’re both going to be in a new documentary about their band in April, they haven’t made up.

Why Are They Still Not Friends?

The Bon Jovi bandmates’ friendship took a hit when Richie Sambora, the lead guitarist, suddenly left the band during a world tour in April 2013. This shocking move came right before a big show, and they’ve been on icy terms since.

Jon Bon Jovi, now 62, shared his side of the story, saying that since Richie isn’t part of the band anymore, they just don’t talk. He mentioned this during a chat with Ultimate Classic Rock, highlighting that he had no say in Richie being part of the upcoming documentary, “Thank You Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.” He stated, “They interviewed Richie in London. I wasn’t there. I had nothing to do with it.”

Despite the silence between them, Jon still has a soft spot for Richie. He believes that just because they’re not talking doesn’t mean the love is gone. He remembers Richie as a “wonderful friend and collaborator” and insists he would never speak ill of him.

The Real Reason Behind Richie’s Departure

Richie Sambora opened up about his decision to leave Bon Jovi. In a heartfelt interview in 2020, he said it was a tough choice but he felt he had no other option. His main reason? Family. He needed to be there for his daughter Ava, who he shares with his ex-wife, actress Heather Locklear.

Exciting Docuseries and A Sweet Deal

Amidst all this drama, fans can look forward to the Bon Jovi docuseries set to release on Disney Plus in April. And if you hurry, you might catch their special deal ending soon.

In the end, while Jon and Richie might not be ready to patch things up just yet, their music and the upcoming documentary promise to keep fans hooked.
