Can we confidently say that Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, was the unexpected highlight of his father’s inauguration? Many would agree with a resounding yes.

Now 18 years old, Barron started his first year at New York University’s Stern School of Business in September 2024, where he is reportedly studying business and finance.

At present, the youngest Trump resides in Trump Tower, situated in Midtown Manhattan, commuting to the university for his classes. His mother shared in a September 2024 interview with Fox News, “It was [Barron’s] choice to come here. He wanted to live in New York, study in New York, and stay in his home.”

Nevertheless, an insider suggests that his mother prefers to keep a close eye on him.

“Living in a dorm in a typical college setting isn’t part of his plans right now,” a source revealed to People in December 2024 while discussing Barron’s current living arrangements. “Melania believes it’s important to be near him as much as she can.”

Body language specialist Judi James shared her insights on Barron’s demeanor during his father’s inauguration, noting that the young man now plays the role of what she describes as a “sweeper.”

“This means he follows behind his parents, but instead of simply walking in their shadow as he did in his younger years, he takes time to greet people, shake hands, and exchange polite words,” James explained. She added that this behavior reflects Barron’s growing presence and influence without directly challenging his father’s spotlight.

James continued, “He’s making it clear that he is establishing himself as a significant figure in his own right. His towering height, paired with increasing signs of self-assurance, gives him a regal-like presence. During Trump’s fiery address targeting Biden, the president endured it with alternating expressions of strained discomfort and forced smiles, as his presidency was criticized in no uncertain terms.”

One particular moment that stood out to observers was Barron’s brief but notable interaction with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

According to lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman, Barron greeted Biden with a polite “G’day to you, sir,” before turning to Harris and saying, “Ma’am, good day.”

Biden responded warmly, saying, “It’s good to see you, man.”

Body language analyst Judi James described Barron’s handshake with Biden as both “confident” and “charming.”

“Although Biden’s facial expression seemed to shift, almost as though Barron had conveyed some cryptic message or warning, the reality was far less dramatic,” James clarified. “Barron appeared to lean in to greet Kamala next, and Biden’s reaction simply reflected that the exchange with Trump’s son had concluded.”

As anticipated, many praised Barron for his courteous demeanor, with people applauding him as a well-mannered young man and crediting his mother for doing a commendable job raising him.
