Joy Behar’s recent fall on “The View” brought some unexpected excitement to the show. Even though the set had been upgraded for comfort, the 80-year-old comedian still ended up on the floor in a funny accident.
On Thursday, Behar joked about the live TV moment when she missed her seat while trying to sit on a tricky swivel chair. She laughed, saying,
“Remember when I fell on stage? My butt missed the chair.”
Whoopi Goldberg shared her view, pointing out that the audience didn’t see everything the hosts saw. She explained,
“We saw you trying to not fall, and it was scary because we didn’t know if we should catch you or if that would make it worse.”
In her usual funny style, Behar compared her job to a theme park ride, saying the moving chairs reminded her of a ride at Coney Island.
The bright side of her little fall was that new safer chairs were brought in. These had four tall legs, a square seat, and a backrest to prevent another tumble.
Showing off the new seats on Thursday, Behar highlighted the changes made to stop future accidents.
But not everyone was pleased. Goldberg joked, “They’re not new for me because my behind doesn’t fit in this chair, as I’ve said many times.”
Goldberg humorously added that while her old chair fit better, it might not have been Behar’s favorite.
They laughed and teased each other about dealing with what they had.
Earlier in the week, 67-year-old Goldberg defended Behar after co-host Ana Navarro, 51, claimed that Bill Geddie, the late co-creator of “The View,” both hired and fired Behar.
The hosts’ strong bond highlighted the lively nature of the show.
Behar also made news by calling Texas Gov. Greg Abbott a “sadist.” She described him as someone who enjoys causing pain or suffering.
Her remarks sparked conversation beyond the show.
Despite her unexpected fall, Joy Behar’s mishap added a fun moment to “The View,” keeping the audience entertained and surprised.
