A young man finds “tennis balls” during a walk — looks closer and sees they are moving

When you go hiking often, you might come across surprising things. I know I have. Over the past few years, I’ve made it a habit to hike the trails near my home two or three times a week. Along the way, I’ve encountered strange sights, sounds, and smells.

But I’ve never seen anything like what happened to a man walking in Peterborough, UK. What he stumbled upon would make anyone stop and think.

After crossing a tree line and reaching the edge of a dip in the land, the man noticed what looked like hundreds of tennis balls scattered on the forest floor.

The sight was unusual enough to grab his attention. He decided to take a closer look. When he approached, he realized these weren’t tennis balls at all. They were living creatures.

To his amazement, he had found a large group of chicks. These birds seemed to have hatched only about a day earlier. Sadly, most people online believe someone had left the chicks there to die. It seems whoever did it didn’t expect anyone to find them while they were still alive.

Authorities were quickly called to the strange scene. They gathered the birds into boxes to rescue them. I’ve definitely never come across anything like this on a hike. Have you? Share your thoughts in the comments.
