The Robinsons bought a remote house to start a farm.
Within four months, Mrs. Robinson had her second son. They set up his room right after moving in, getting it ready before he was born.
The Robinsons loved animals. Their apartment owner wouldn’t let them have a dog, so they planned to get a puppy now.
The couple and their 6-year-old son, Matias, went to an animal shelter looking for a gentle dog to grow up with their farm children.
After touring the kennels and hearing sad stories about the animals, they couldn’t decide which puppy to pick.
At the end of their visit, they met Benson, a 4-year-old pit bull. He looked like he had given up on people, standing back, head down, tail tucked.
The shelter volunteers shared Benson’s sad past with the family. He had been forced into dog fights, then abandoned on the streets until the shelter found him. A couple had adopted Benson, but they returned him after two weeks because of his aggression and behavioral problems.
The family rushed the newborn to the hospital, where doctors performed CPR. The doctor said the baby would have died if his heart and lungs had stopped working for over half an hour.
Benson became a hero, showing that nothing is coincidental. Benson, a dog once overlooked, was saved by the Robinsons and ended up saving their baby.
